Maya Grace Lear at 4 months old

Yesterday we got a medical report and pictures of our precious baby girl. She is now 11.8 lbs and 22.8 inches long. She is lifting her head, grabbing for toys, bearing weight on her legs and starting to roll over.
Now all we can hope is that our preapproval comes soon. When that comes, we will be entered into one of the last stages of this process, called PGN.
PGN is currently a "black hole" that is just not moving. So we are not sure if she will be home at the average 6 months, but we can still hope.
We appreciate all your support!
Really, how cute am I??????
I see drool!

Maya is lifting her head now... ...and eating her hand!
This is Maya with her foster mom, Debbie

We love that smile and are glad to see she looks just like she did when we left...just fatter:)

The end result of two toddlers pushed to their limit!

Mommy, Daddy and Bryan on Thomas the Tank Engine! Troy, Cheryl and Logan on Thomas
Bryan had a 5 min nap with his eyes opened on our second train ride

Our obsessed Thomas fan
Bryan learned this from our dog, Riley.

Bryan met Sponge Bob at his daycare family picnic and was surprised by his nose! Bryan in his new bed which has started on the floor...

Hot stuff...is this the life or what?
Bryan on his first pony ride...He was a bit unsure about this!
Our cute curly headed nephew...Zachary Bryan would not hold our hand(surprise!)...so we negotiated this...

Jeff and George took the boys on this dino ride...or did they??? I do not see any kids!
Bryan played skiball on the boardwalk last week... Does this count as cheeting???

Update

Well, we are just about off cloud nine and really miss Maya!

It is difficult to follow the Guatemalan chaos, I know. So to sum up where we are:
We did receive Maya's DNA package which included a picture of her on her birthmother's lap. Many adoptive moms that I talk to are very emotional after looking at this picture because the birthmother is crying or smiling or upset. Maya's birthmother has a very disconnected stare on her and it really did not hit us much. She just looked as if it was not happening at all.

We were suprised at how Mayan Indian the mother looks as Maya does look a litlle hispanic to us. It is probably from her biological father which we will probably never know.

We will put the picture away for Maya for when she is older.

We do know that she is BEAUTIFUL!!! We look forward to seeing her again!

As for preapproval, we still await!

We were almost preapproved last Thursday, the 15th. However, we were not b/c there was a mix-up in the birthmother's date of birth. Yesterday that was corrected but the correction has to be translated before we get the official preapproval! We are told that it should be in the next 10 days. We hope that means today or tomorrow, but we are again, hopeful!

Once we get preapproval, we will be entered into PGN which is one of the final stages. Some people are in PGN 3 weeks, and some a year. So when people ask us when Maya will come home...we are honest when we say we don not know:(

All we know is that are hearts led us to her and we cannot wait for her to touch US soil!

Thanks for all the support!!!

XOXO

This was our last photo. We both will miss Maya very much. Her next Doctor's appt. is June 27th. We hope to hear some good news before then. The next things that should happen include:
1. Receiving the DNA package in the mail
2. Obtaining Pre-Approval
3. Entering PGN.
For anyone who is interested in what all this means...you can check www.guatadopt.com
If not, what each step means is that we are closer to getting Maya on US soil! All she did was sleep for the last 2-3 hours of our time together. Maybe she was trying to make it easier on us?
Mommy's girl is getting some last hugs in.. Maya fast asleep on Daddy...ready to catch some flies..
Maya and Mommy at the poolMaya is so precious when she first wakes up. It was refreshing to us. We are used to our "terrible two" year old who does not wake up in quite the same manner:)
Maya really loved when Daddy would feed her.

We had Maya in her sunny yellow outfit . Seems like she is warming up to pictures. Good thing to be in our family! One of our favorites, she was really laughing the last 2 days. It was incredibly cute!
What does it look like Maya is doing in this photo below?
